Healthcare Career Program

Gain Hands-On Experience in Healthcare

Healthcare Training
Healthcare students gain hands-on training in medical labs & clinic settings

The healthcare field needs employees with a variety of skill sets to keep everything running smoothly. That’s why CSI students can choose between two tracks in the Healthcare Career Program: the billing and coding track and the clinical track. Both options prepare students to take the certification exams they need to pursue a variety of in-demand healthcare careers.

Billing and Coding Track

The billing and coding track of the Healthcare Career Program focuses on the information needs of the healthcare industry. Students are prepared with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide medical coding and billing, manage healthcare data used to support patient care, and contribute to the development of computer-based patient records.

Revamped to meet the latest industry needs, this 12-month program will walk you through:

  • Medical administrative procedures
  • Current Procedural Terminology
  • Coding medical diagnoses
  • Customer service
  • Medical insurance methodology

Our courses give you hands-on experience so you can seamlessly transition from student to knowledgeable professional when you join the workforce. You will be taught by one or two experienced faculty members for the duration of the program, enabling you to build strong teacher/student relationships, understand expectations, and focus on the subject matter.

The billing and coding track includes certification exam preparation and fees. Students can choose one of the following options:

  • Option 1: The AHIMA Certified Coder Associate (CCA)
OR

  • Option 2: The NHA Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) AND the NHA Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS)

These certifications are internationally recognized and demonstrate the academic qualifications you achieved and the credentials you earned.
