CompTIA/Microsoft Track

The CompTIA/Microsoft track of the Networking Career Program prepares students for a variety of entry-level careers in computer networking and information technology. The combination of theoretical and practical hands-on experience allows students to gain the skills necessary to become and remain competitive in today’s market. This comprehensive program covers a wide range of topics mapped towards CompTIA© exams and to the new generation of Microsoft© Exams.

Students will learn in a practical environment under the attentive guidance of experienced computer professionals while enjoying the flexibility of CSI’s Blended Learning Methodology. The CompTIA/Microsoft track is a hybrid program that combines instructor led classroom and online learning for convenient, efficient education that gives students the skills they need to succeed in a way that fits their lifestyle.

The program incorporates a strong foundation in networking and IT fundamentals, including:

  • Windows Desktop Support I & II
  • Customer Service
  • Client Operating Systems
  • Interconnecting Networking Devices I, II, III & IV and
  • Professional Development.

The CompTIA/Microsoft track includes certification exam preparation and the fees for 3 exams. Students can choose any 3 of the following exams to be included with this program:

  • CompTIA ITF+
  • CompTIA Server+
  • CompTIA Network+
  • Microsoft 365 Fundamentals Microsoft Exam: Windows 10
  • Microsoft Exam: Managing Modern Desktops

Concentration in Web Development

The concentration in web development provides core skills required to support the whole process of developing a web application. The program is divided into two parts. The first part is focused on coding, program logic, data structures, APIs, and best practices for creating quality software. Students will learn to create user interfaces, handle data flow, build backend for request processing, and implement entity-relationships into efficiently functioning databases. The second part concentrates on application deployment and maintenance, software development lifecycle models, security and privacy issues, testing, project management, and advanced coding techniques.

Students will learn Front-end and Back-end development through practical programming assignments that teach them to solve “real-world” problems even if students have no previous coding experience. They will build a portfolio as they progress through the program and will have a body of work to show to potential employers.

  • User Interface Design
  • Introduction to Programming
  • Web Application Development
  • Database Administration
  • Application Server Administration
  • Software Development Lifecycle
  • Web Security and Privacy
  • Advanced JavaScript

The concentration in web development includes certification exam preparation and the fees for 3 exams. Students can choose any 3 of the following exams to be included with this program:

  • Microsoft Exam: Programming in HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS3
  • Python Institute Exam: PCAP – Certified Associate in Python Programming
  • The Linux Foundation: OpenJS Node.js Application Developer
  • W3schools: SQL Developer

Program Length

44 weeks (40 academic weeks + 4 administrative weeks)

Optional Practical Training (OPT) for International Students

After completion of the Networking Career Program, eligible international students can apply for up to 12 months OPT work authorization to gain practical experience in their field of study.
